With the weekend right around the corner, it’s a good idea to look at a few options for your next weekly break. The good news is there’s always something to do in the UAE – like an animal-filled getaway that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
Discover a wildlife haven with roaming giraffes, gazelles, and the endangered Arabian Oryx.
Created by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, this island is perfect for safaris and breathtaking sunsets. Stay at
one of two resorts or hop on a two-night Resorts One World cruise for a guided safari and the complete tour, which
you can conclude with a lovely dinner while watching the sunset.
Explore six zones with 3,000 animals and two exciting safaris, or maybe unwind and feed rhinos,
pet goats, and attend wildlife talks. There’s an education aspect too; explore parks with African, Asian, and
Arabian-themed areas, or embark on a family adventure in Explorer Village. All in all, the Dubai Safari Park does
indeed offer the experience of a safari.
With marine magic spanning 83,000 sqm and over 100 animal encounters, dolphin shows, and
hands-on activities like feeding sea lions, SeaWorld Dubai is home to an immense variety of activities and sights.
From sea lions to flamingoes, there are more insta-gramable exhibits than you can imagine, and the interactive spots
mean you can get up close and personal with some exhibits too. On top of that, there are more than 15 themed rides
to help you truly appreciate the sea, including a fully immersive, 360-degree multimedia sphere.
With over 4,00 animals housed in this zoo and conservation park, it is one of the largest in
the region. Watch how a crocodile has a meal in the wild or maybe feed a giraffe and ride a camel if that
isn’t exactly to your palette. Ending your trip with the petting zoo is sure to leave you with a smile.
The
green biome is a forest within a desert. Yes, you read that right. In here, you can choose to camp or roam about the
exhibits. With over 3,000 animals and counting in the green park, you can enjoy the company of plenty of rare and
never-seen-before animals like the Green Magpie, Livingstone’s Turaco, Green Turaco, and White Cheeked Turaco.
Also joining the biodome is a flock of bright Sun Conures, native to South America, Scarlet Macaws and Eclectus.
Enjoy unique encounters like breakfast with giraffes for Dh2,100, which includes feeding
sessions and Q&A with trainers and African drumming sessions too. Similar dining experiences are available with
elephants and leopards, if you prefer a more ‘exciting’ encounter.
Exploring these incredible destinations and reconnecting with nature is sure to create unforgettable memories. Happy Holidays!
